Danny Boice is a proven thought leader experienced in building global software development departments, driving technology innovation and turning around lagging organizations. Boice has a track record of success in the conception and implementation of high-visibility, mission-critical systems for varying organizations from Fortune 500 to Small and Medium Sized Businesses. Boice has a rare blend of technology expertise and business acumen.
Danny currently serves as the Director of New Media for The College Board in Reston, VA. Danny’s responsibilities include driving technology innovation in the arena’s of web, mobile, social and other cutting edge digital domains. He also drives their Developer Community and Open API / Data strategy.
Danny recently served as the Chief Technology Officer for Speek (formerly CommuniClique). Speek is a SaaS product which provides old school (phone, email) and new school (VoIP, Screen to Screen, IM) communications tools in an easy to use fashion to non-technical teams of people. Speek helps teams communicate more efficiently no matter where they are. Speek is a cloud-based web 2.0 product. Boice remains active in Speek.
Danny attended Harvard University.
Prior to Speek, Boice founded and headed Jaxara, which owned and operated global application development and systems integration centers. Boice successfully exited Jaxara in 2006 via acquisition by Pantheon. Following the acquisition, Danny served as Executive Vice-President at Pantheon.
Other engagements include Director of Technology at ASCII. This included managing teams responsible for large, mission critical system development. Clients have included but were not limited to FedEx, Microsoft, Ingram Micro, Dell, Comcast, eBay and more.
Early in his career, Boice was employed as a software engineer at Musicmaker.com where his team was the first to utilize SOAP/XML in E-Commerce.
Last, Boice has been a featured speaker and panelist at several Technology Events and Tradeshows. He was a finalist for the Greater Washington Board of Trade’s 2008 Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and has also been featured in Baseline, CRN, Silicon Valley Journal, Business First, Yahoo Finance, Business Journals, News Forge, MIT High Tech Journal and many more.
